Esposende Maritime Museum

The Esposende Maritime Museum is located in the city’s historic Shipwreck Aid Station, strategically placed at the end of the Cávado river.

On the first floor of the building there is a temporary exhibition room with more than a thousand photographs related to the maritime theme. These photographs preserve and pay tribute to the local memory of those who worked and continue to work in the maritime sector. On the 2nd floor, in addition to the Esposende Forum’s association headquarters, there is also an auditorium. You can also visit some of the museum’s collection, such as Colonel Adolfo Monteiro Cruz’s collection of conch shells.

If you’re nearby, take the opportunity to visit the Esposende Maritime Museum and soak up some of Esposende’s maritime culture.
