The Magic of Christmas – Barcelos

Barcelos kicks off its Christmas celebrations on November 29, with the lights being switched on at 7:00 PM, preceded by a concert by “The Classic” at 6:30 PM in Largo da Porta Nova. The city comes alive with decorations across 50 locations, including iconic landmarks like the Medieval Bridge, the Paço dos Condes, and a 30-meter Christmas Tree, alongside the Christmas Market at Alameda das Barrocas.

Highlights and Attractions:

• Interactive Tunnel “Magic Castle”: Located on Avenida da Liberdade and Campo 5 de Outubro.
• “Christmas with Friends” Party: Featuring DJs and live music.
• Parisian Carousel, Santa’s Sleigh, and Christmas Carriage: At Largo Dr. José Novais.
• Nativity Exhibitions: Including the “Seven Arts Nativity” at the Gothic Hall of the Paços do Concelho.

The program also features concerts in churches and parishes, theater, dance, parades, and the traditional Christmas Train.
