Jahrhundert, w\u00e4hrend der Herrschaft von K\u00f6nig Pedro II, begann der <strong>Bau der Festung S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o<\/strong>, die in der Region f\u00fcr ihre Geschichte und Steinstruktur bekannt ist. Die Aufgabe der Festung war es, die portugisische K\u00fcste zu verteidigen und den Eingang zum C\u00e1vado-Fluss zu sch\u00fctzen. Der <strong>Leuchtturm<\/strong>, aus dem diese Festung besteht, ist heute einer der wenigen Metallt\u00fcrme, die es in Portugal gibt. Im Jahr 2020 erwarb die <a href=\"https:\/\/www.municipio.esposende.pt\/\">Gemeinde Esposende f\u00fcr einen Zeitraum von 50 Jahren die Festung S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o Batista<\/a> mit dem Ziel, diesen Raum zur F\u00f6rderung des kulturellen Erbes zu sanieren.
